In the context of “healthy China 2030”, there are still many inequalities in the health aspect among migrants, Guo Wei, Lu Jiaying and Liu Linping wrote in the 2nd issue of Population Journal 2022. Socioeconomic status characterized by education has a significant effect on health literacy of migrant population. Health literacy has a significant positive effect on health outcomes. The higher the health literacy is, the better the self-rated health status is, and the lower the likelihood of chronic diseases is, which statistically proves that health literacy is an important mechanism for understanding the relation between social structure and health inequality. According to the article, education and income as factors of socioeconomic status and the local health file system based on the social policy have differentiated effects on health literacy of migrant workers and migrant white collars. The article verifies the effect of enhancing health literacy of migrant population on reducing their health loss and improving their health level from both theoretical and empirical aspects.
