On November 17, the 7th China Campus Drama Festival, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Youth Drama Invitational Exhibition and the 2021 Nanshan Drama Festival kicked off in Shenzhen. Created by East China University of Political Science and Law, the original large-scale drama “Lei Jingtian” premiered at the opening ceremony of the festival, which vividly shows the Chinese Communists leading the construction of the rule of law during the New Democratic Revolution.
Lei Jingtian was one of the founders of the rule of law of the Communist Party of China and the pioneer of legal education. The play brings the story onto the stage, using Lei Jingtian’s experience in judging the “Huang Kegong case” as the main plot clue. The play tells the story of a new contract between the Chinese Communists and ordinary people: a contract in which everyone is equal.
The play was unanimously praised as a distinctive brand of Shanghai's rule of law culture, and was awarded the Outstanding Play of the 7th China Campus Drama Festival.
