"Digital Cities: Local Innovation in Communication Research -- Communication and China · Fudan Forum" was held in Shanghai on November 20. Journalism and communication scholars from well-known universities and research institutions in China discussed the future trend of journalism and communication research in China with "digital cities" as the breakthrough point.
At the conference,"Code Cities: Urban Digital Communication Power Report" was officially released as the joint research result of Information and Communication Center of Fudan University and Digital Communication Research Center of Zhejiang University. Focusing on "QR code", a typical example of China's current digital technology practice, the report indicates that more than 90% of QR code applications in the world are in China. Health code, payment code, traffic code and other QR code applications have been deeply embedded in every field of urban life. This is China's local experience in the global digital technology wave. The existence of QR codes and the practice of scanning codes have become organic part of cities, and the emergence of "code cities" shows a new development trend of digital technology and human civilization and means that code software is becoming infrastructure of cities, directly driving the operation of social systems and stimulating huge potential of urban communication.
