Fostering Strategic Partnership between China and GCC States

On May 19, an online international seminar on "fostering strategic partnership between China and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states" was held by China-Arab Research Center on Reform and Development. Attendees had discussions on political mutual trust and security cooperation, economic and trade development & cooperation, cultural exchanges and mutual learning.

At the meeting, Ambassador Li Chen of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China for affairs of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum remarked that China and the GCC states had enjoyed sound momentum of the mutual relationship in recent years, with closer coordination between the two sides on political mutual trust, economic and trade development, anti-epidemic cooperation, cultural exchanges and regional & international issues. Conditions are ripe for China and the GCC states to establish a strategic partnership. He expressed the hope that the two sides could achieve development through cooperation in the future and promote the quality and upgrading of China-Arab states relationships. Yahya Bin Junaid, chairman of the Saudi Center for Scientific Research and Knowledge Exchange, stressed the mutual learning and exchanges between civilizations of China and the GCC states, pointing out that the two sides should strengthen ties at the language, translation, education and publicity levels.
