According to him, the infrastructure system and the external network connectivity which maintain residents' life and production activities are two major lifelines of a city; compared with traditional urban lifelines, the lifelines established through external network connectivity are more complex and important. After the epidemic is brought under control, repairing and improving the city's network connectivity as soon as possible is very important for Shanghai to restore its vitality.
