2022 Academic Conference of Sichuan Gerontology Held

An academic conference of Sichuan gerontology for 2022 was held in Southwest Jiaotong University on June 2. It was jointly organized by the Research Center for Ageing and Industrial Development, a key social sciences research base of Sichuan Province, and Sichuan Geriatrics Society.

The theme of the conference was "active ageing, combination of medical and health care, leading by standardization". Attendees discussed the policy trends, medical and convalescing care, standardization and quality improvement for responding to Sichuan's strategy of ageing. Professor Wang Yongjie, dean of the School of Public Administration at Southwest Jiaotong University, remarked that promoting high-quality development of ageing-related work, especially medical and convalescing care services, was the basic work for the important task of modernizing China's governance system and capability for the future, especially for 2035. Han Mei, head of the Ageing and Health Division, Health Commission of Sichuan Province, said that the ageing-related work, which was comprehensive, systematic and complex, called for more experts and scholars as well as participants from all sectors of society so as to help explore a model with Chinese characteristics and Chinese wisdom.
