The Blue Book of Enterprise Globalization: Report on Chinese Enterprises Globalization (2021-2022), compiled by the Center for China and Globalization (CCG) and the Institute of Development Studies of Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, was published by Social Sciences Academic Press on June 8.
Focusing on two-way international investment, the Blue Book for the year researches on “going-global” Chinese enterprises and multinational companies in China. China's outbound direct investment (ODI) has bucked the trend and topped the world for the first time amid shrinking global FDI and the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the report. China attaches equal importance to "bringing in" and "going global", and the foreign investment absorbed has seen an increase in the total amount, the growth rate and the proportion in the world. In addition, given that the overseas investment environment has changed for Chinese enterprises, it is suggested that Chinese enterprises focus on how to participate in rebuilding the global industrial chain and supply chain, and improve the independence and controllability of the industrial chain and supply chain by making use of both domestic and overseas markets and resources.
