The Blue Book of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei: Annual Report on Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Metropolitan Region Development (2022)was jointly released by Capital University of Economics and Business and Social Sciences Academic Press on July 9.
Building a coordinated development pattern of "2+11" digital cities is an important measure to consolidate the foundation of digital economy in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, the report says. From the regional synergy perspective, in the digital city construction, what we need to take account of includes not only new infrastructure within cities, but also how to rely on digital city construction to realize the lateral coordination between cities, narrow the gap between cities in digitalization, and avoid digital development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei metropolitan region from being hindered by digital divides. The attribute of digital twins is helpful to the adaptive and coordinated development of cities in the region. The Xiong’an New Area, located in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, has proposed the idea of "digital twin cities" for the first time nationwide, making a good start in this regard.
