In order to facilitate interdisciplinary development of area and country studies and strengthen training of outstanding multilingual talents who are proficient in languages and have a good knowledge of countries with expertise, Shanghai Academy of Global Governance & Area Studies (SAGGAS) of Shanghai International Studies University held a training camp for methodologies of area and country studies between July 18 and August 9.
As Professor Yang Cheng, Executive Director of SAGGAS, said at the opening ceremony, the training camp aims to fully gather and share domestic and international high-quality academic resources and provide an academic exchange platform for global young students’ growth and progress, so as to strengthen the training of talents for area and country studies, and promote the interdisciplinary development of area and country studies that keeps abreast of the times, aligns with national needs, meets social needs and serves individual growth.
