The WAIC International Forum for AI in Sport Opens

The first International Forum for Artificial Intelligence in Sport of the World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) 2022 was held in Minhang District, Shanghai on September 2. With the theme of "making AI become a new engine to boost the sports development”, the event focused on the Olympic Winter Games with science and technology, intelligent facilities, artificial intelligence and sports medicine, sports metaverse, digital AI human of sportsand other hot topics in the world.The forum wassponsored by Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai Sports Bureau, Shanghai Minhang GovernmentandShanghai Universityof Sport,and it was organized by Shanghai Artificial IntelligenceResearch Institute.

At the forum, a series of intelligent sports achievements were announced. The Blue Book of AI + Sports Development, the first in China, was released by Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Tsinghua University, Capital University of Physical Education and Sports, Shanghai University of Sport, Tongji University and Shanghai Artificial IntelligenceResearch Institute. The urban design of Shanghai Maqiao AI test zoneand the program for the "futureboat" AI + sports parkwere also issued. Shanghai Artificial IntelligenceResearch Institute signed a strategic agreement with Yao Capital (Yao Foundation) as well.
