Shanghai University Commemorates the 100th Anniversary of Founding of the Guide Weekly

This year marks the 100thanniversary of the founding of both Shanghai Universityandthe Guide Weekly, the first central organ newspaper of the Communist Party of China. The Guide Weeklyhas a special relation with Shanghai University as many of the leaders and sponsors of the newspaper at that time were teachers from Shanghai University.

On September 11, celebrations of the one hundredth anniversary of the founding of Shanghai University and the Guide Weekly& the third academic conference of Marxist concept of news were held both online and offline. They were sponsored by School of Journalism and Communication of Shanghai University, and organized by the Research and Innovation Center for the Discourse System of Marxism in the Chinese Context, the Research, Publicity and Education Base of Marxist Concept of News of Shanghai University, the Journalism and Publicity Research Center of Shanghai University and the Media Research Center of Shanghai University.

Tong Bing, senior professor of Fudan University, Yin Yungong, dean and professor of School of Journalism and Communication of Hunan Normal University, and Ding Boquan, professor of School of Journalism and Communication of Nanjing University, made keynote speeches at the conference.
