The Seminar on Studying and Implementing Guiding Principles of the 20th CPC National Congress Held in Shanghai

The seminar on studying and implementing the guiding principles of the 20thCPC National Congress was held in Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences on October 28. It was hosted by the Shanghai Research Center of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, the Shanghai Research Center of Great Founding Spirit of the CPC and the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences (SASS); organized by the SASS Research Base under the Shanghai Research Center of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, the School of Marxism Studies of SASS, the Journal of Social Sciences and the Editorial Office of Studies on Mao Zedong and Deng Xiaoping Theories.

According to experts attending the seminar, as the latest theoretical achievement of adapting Marxism to the Chines context, the worldview and methodology of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era give expression to Marxism’s living soul and character of theory embracing the reality. To fully implement the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, we must adhere to the "six principles" and continue to promote theoretical innovation based on practice.Led by the Communist Party of China, the Chinese path to modernization is people-centered, pursuing common prosperity, material and cultural-ethical advancement, harmony between humanity and nature and peaceful development.There is a systematic exposition on the mission, Chinese characteristics, essential requirements, objectives, tasks and major principles of the Chinese modernization in the report of the 20thCPC National Congress. It is worth our serious study and research.A series of major propositions in the report remain to be further understood and grasped in practice.
