2022 Global Cities Forum Held in Shanghai

The Global Cities Forum 2022 was held in Shanghai on November 2 as a themed event of the “Observance of World Cities Day 2022 and the Second Sustainable Development Goals Cities Global Conference”. Themed "embracing openness and cooperation for mutual benefit", the forum was co-hosted by the Development Research Center of the Shanghai Municipal People's Government, the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-HABITAT) and the World Bank. More than 200 guests from home and abroad attended the forum.

At the forum, Jiang Sixian, president of the China Institute of Urban Governance at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Lu Fangzhou, Party secretary of Shanghai Jiading District, jointly released the book Jiading's Practice of Urban Governance. New practice and exploration of Jiading District in meticulous governance and new town construction are showcased in the book, contributing experience to the modernization of mega-city governance in China.
