The Summit Forum "New Wave of Globalization and Cultural Confidence", hosted by the School of Humanities, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, was held in Shanghai on November 5. Experts and scholars of various fields from universities and research institutions across the country attended the forum.
Professor Wang Ning, dean of the School of Humanities, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, put forward the concept of "global humanities", encouraging scholars to explore hot topics of universal significance from the perspective of all mankind, and have direct and fruitful dialogues with international counterparts, so as to spread Chinese culture and humanities in a more effective manner.
Shen Xiangping, director of the Institute of Globalization and Cultural Development Strategy at Beijing Normal University, pointed out that cultural confidence is a fundamental, deep and lasting force in the development of a country or a nation; for today's China, without a high level of cultural confidence, there can be no real national rejuvenation.
