On April 1, the School of Management of Fudan University held a science & technology forum with the title of "Beyond ChatGPT: Changes Caused by Large Language Models" to discuss the opportunities and challenges brought by ChatGPT and other big model technologies.
Qiu Xipeng, professor at the School of Computer Science of Fudan University and head of MOSS system, indicated at the forum that the rapid evolution of large language model technology had shown us a framework to the future of "artificial general intelligence"; and the most important for next step was to "align" big models with the real world so as to keep machines aligned with human values and thinking ways. Yan Feng, professor of Department of Chinese Language and Literature at Fudan University, stressed that literature and art were in need of imagination and creativity; he expected ChatGPT to push people to free themselves from inefficient and repetitive academic tasks and focus on original knowledge learning.
