SHANGHAI’S pilot free trade zone (FTZ) should strive to be an innovation highland instead of a place to take advantages of beneficiary policies, Party Secretary Han Zheng said yesterday.
“There are do’s and don’ts when talking about reform in Shanghai FTZ,” Han said. The free trade zone had built up fruitful results during its three-year-long development, which reflected as better trade facilitation and financial reforms on cross-border businesses.
Han said that government should recall the mission of the city’s free trade zone. “Shanghai FTZ is a national test area, not a local plot.
“We should keep being a pioneer at exploring an open and new economic system for the country.”
