Hata Norio: first holder of PRC’s Permanent Residence Certificate

Since his days in school, Hata Norio harbored a wish to visit China. After graduating from college, he discovered a company that attended an industrial exhibition held in Beijing. Without hesitation Hata Norio joined this company with the hope to visit China one day.

Never had he thought that he would live in China for more than 50 years and become the first person to be issued a Chinese green card, the People’s Republic of China’s Permanent Residence Certificate.
