Back in 2001, a film named “Gua Sha Treatment” had a strong resonance among Chinese people at home and abroad. The grandfather in the movie used Gua Sha, a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) technique to treat his American grandchildren, but his behavior was misunderstood as “child abuse” in the U.S. The contrast between Chinese and Western medicine and the conflict between Eastern and Western cultures was indicated fully by the film. Today, in a hospital in Hradec Kralove, a town in the northern part of the Czech Republic, patients from all over the country go to the China-Czech TCM Center for acupuncture and cupping. The medical professionals in the center are from the Czech Republic and Shanghai.
One of the doctors is Frantisek Musil, who had an interview with eastday.com during a break at work.
