China, Pakistan sign 38 trade agreements

The commerce ministries of China and Pakistan co-hosted a China-Pakistan trade project signing ceremony in Islamabad on Aug 10.

Thirty-eight trade agreements were signed, worth $325 million.

China and Pakistan enjoy strong complementarity in their trade and economic cooperation. Pakistan is China's important trade and economic cooperation partner in Asia. The fast growth of bilateral trade is in line with the interests of the two peoples. The diversified consumption demands of the Chinese market and advantageous industries also providea broad market for products from Pakistan and the world beyond, said Wang Dongtang, deputy director of the foreign trade department of the Commerce Ministry.

An official of the Pakistani counterpart said that China's action in sending a trade promotional group to Pakistan was a practical means to promote bilateral economic and trade cooperation. It showed the Chinese government attached importance to bilateral trade, promoting win-win cooperation and deepening the bilateral trade ties.

China's Ministry of Commerce also organized representatives of some Chinese enterprises to visit Pakistan from Aug 9 to 11.
