BUCHAREST, Oct. 22 (Xinhua) -- The ECUST Sibiu Sino-European International Business School, jointly established by East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST) and Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu, was unveiled Monday in Sibiu, a city in central Romania.

This is the first business school jointly established by China and Romania.

"Lucian Blaga University has established friendly relations and cooperation with Chinese universities through the Confucius Institute project founded more than 10 years ago," rector Ioan Bondrea said at the unveiling ceremony, expressing his belief that the newly established business school in Sibiu will provide Romanian students with a platform to understand Chinese business culture, and strengthen exchanges between the two countries in higher education and culture.

In his turn, ECUST President Qu Jingping said that his university cherished this cooperation opportunity, hoped to deepen the specific cooperation between the two universities in the field of education.

ECUST will cooperate in running the new business school based on the concept of mutual cooperation, joint construction and consensus building, stressed Qu, expressing the hope that, together with his Romanian counterpart, they will give full play to the intellectual leadership role of the higher education institutions in the "Belt and Road" initiative.

East China University of Science and Technology and Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu signed an agreement on April 10 this year to jointly establish the Sino-European International Business School, as a hub to introduce the ECUST MBA program to Central and Eastern European countries.
