ULAN BATOR, March 31 (Xinhua) -- The 12th "Chinese Bridge," a Chinese language and culture proficiency competition for secondary school students, was held at the Ulan Bator Ensemble on Sunday.

Titled "Learning Chinese, Creating Brighter Future," the competition attracted 28 Mongolian students.

Fifteen finalists were announced by judges after they competed in the three categories featuring "Prepared speech," "Chinese knowledge quiz" and "Chinese talent show."

"I have been learning Chinese for 11 years now," Gantsetseg Suvd, one of the finalists, told Xinhua, adding that "my dream is to go to China to study medicine."

The competition was co-organized by the Confucius Institute Headquarters, the Confucius Institute at National University of Mongolia, the Mongolian Chinese Teachers Association, the China-Mongolia Cultural and Education Foundation, as well as the Chinese Cultural Center in Ulan Bator.

A final round of the competition to select a winner out of the 15 finalists will be held on April 13, according to the organizers. The winner will represent Mongolia at the final "Chinese Bridge" competition in China.
