Micheal Jackson's mother Katherine Jackson has been granted temporary guardianship of her son's three children.

Katherine Jackson, 79, filed a petition in a Los Angeles court Monday for custody of Micheal's children--12-year-old Michael Joseph Jackson Jr., known as Prince Michael, 11-year-old Paris Michael Katherine Jackson and seven-year-old Prince Michael Jackson II.

Judge Mitchell Beckloff approved the temporary guardianship. A hearing on whether Katherine could be granted permanent guardianship of the children is set for August 3.
