
July 9, 1971, Dr. Henry Kissinger, the U.S. government's special envoy, paid a secret trip to China, a country that had no contacts with the U.S. for more than 20 years. He then became the icebreaker who opened China-US relations. His visit also paved the way for President Nixon's official visit to China for the following year. "Kissinger and China", one of 10-episode documentary series, the China Visionaries, is dedicated to demonstrate Dr. Kissinger's efforts in improving China-US relations. This documentary has interviewed many eyewitnesses, in order to unveil the audiences with a vivid and detailed history of normalization and development of China-US relations and the role of Dr. Henry Kissinger in that particular historical period. This TV biography not only goes into Dr. Kissinger’s experiences of growing up, but also analizes the formation of his political philosophy.
