Geethanjali Nataraj: More Cooperation is Encouraged between BRICS Countries

07/11  13:18

Beijing-The BRICS has become a hot destination of overseas investment, and all we need is to strengthen the internal cooperation, said Geethanjali Nataraj, a senior fellow of Observer Research Foundation, India on the BRICS Economic Think Tank Forum on Nov. 6.

How to reach deep cooperation, make better investment and realize more financial  cooperation within the BRICS, is really a question worth thinking. Nataraj noted that we can cooperate in the areas such as agriculture, energy, mineral, financial services, and medical services as each BRICS country has a lot of cooperation space and potential- China's manufacturing industry, India's services, Russia’s oil and gas resources which are the world's largest, as well as abundant resources in South Africa.

“Here we have the BRICS Development Bank, which will benefit the internal cooperation, and more cooperation opportunities between China and India will also be generated,” said Nataraj. She added that the Indian government is now devoting to reduce the trade deficit which has reached 40 billion u.s. dollar last year between these two countries.
