David Daokui Li Released The BRICS Countries Economic Think Tank Report 2014
Beijing- The BRICS Countries Economic Think Tank Report 2014, with the title of “the BRICS: from concept to concrete”, was released during the forum on Nov.6,.
The report is divided into three parts: the first part is talk about unfavorable and unreasonable elements of the existing international financial system; the second part analyzes the basis of internal cooperation between five BRICS countries while the third part looks into concrete prospect of cooperation within the BRICS followed with constructive suggestions.
When talking about the cooperation basis, David Daokui Li, director of Center for China in the World Economy, Tshinghua University emphasized on three key points: the BRICS countries’ big demand for investment, high rate of savings and huge potential of growth, low urbanization rate for example.
How to make the cooperation within the BRICS into practical? Li suggested that firstly the five countries should speak in one voice through various forums and leadership summit; try best to put the BRICS bank and CRA into reality as the second; while promote internal trade and investment facilitation as the third, and enhance intelligence cooperation such as higher education resources exchanging among these BRICS countries.
