To further improve the quality of its basic English education, Changning District employed some 13 foreign teachers from Canada, the United States, Australia and South Africa to give lessons to about 50 primary and secondary schools in the district recently. According to the district's personnel bureau, the annual salary of each teacher will range from 150,000 yuan to 200,000 yuan on the basis of their teaching performance. The district also put greater emphasis on the qualification of teachers.
