Workers in Zhongshan Park said they have found two bankbooks worth more than
160,000 yuan (US$19,277) and they have not been claimed so far. Zhou Qidong,
a security guard, was patrolling the park located on Wanhangdu Road, Changning
District at 9am yesterday when two bankbooks lying near the gate caught his
eye. "There were no visitors around the site at that time, so I picked them
up and handed them in to our security department," said the
53-year-old. Zhou's seniors found the bankbooks were from Guangzhou. Gu
Guang'an, director of the park's security department, said one from the Bank of
China was worth more than 60,000 yuan and the other from the Industrial and
Commercial Bank of China was worth about 100,000 yuan. "We have put up a
notice looking for the owner but no one has come to claim them yet," Gu
said. Property lost at the park can be claimed by calling 6211-7994.
