Chongming County plans to set up more standard activity centers for its elderly residents this year, in order to enrich their lives. So far the county has spent more than 2 million yuan (US$240,000) on the construction of activity centers. The newly built centers will be equipped with various facilities, like TV sets, air-conditioners, and stereos.
