Pearl Lake, the biggest natural freshwater body of water in the city, opened to public this month in Chongming County. Located at the southern part of the island, the park enjoys the benefits of natural plants and animals. The second phase of the project is now under construction and will include a bird zoo, an aquatic aquarium and a 3,000-square-meter artificial beach when finished next year.
