The county is expected to become a special supply base of agricultural products for the coming World Expo 2010 in the city. So far, agricultural products from the county's 26,079-hectare farmlands, including a modern agricultural zone and 14 towns, have been recognized as harmless.

* FROM January to October, Chongming County's industrial output reached 7.51 billion yuan, an increase of 23.2 percent from a year earlier. The figure accounts for 83.4 percent of the annual plan.
