The Hongkou District Prosecutors' Office yesterday ratified the arrest of two local residents surnamed Li and Qi for extortion. Li allegedly got to know a woman surnamed Zhu through the Internet and asked her to a hotel for one night stand on May 27. Qi, Li's accomplice, pretended to be a policeman and entered the room later. Li took nude pictures of Zhu and took away her mobile phone. Several days later he allegedly told Zhu she could have the pictures for 30,000 yuan (US$3,614). The duo were caught when they went to collect the money on June 2.
