Shanghai First Maternity and Infant Health Hospital in Jing'an District and Shanghai Children's Medical Center are the first medical facilities in China to provide early diagnosis and intervention for pediatric congenital heart diseases. The center will send cardiologists to the hospital regularly to help expectant mothers whose families have a record of hereditary heart diseases. Babies diagnosed with congenital heart ailments will undergo surgery immediately after birth.
