The 2006 Summer Shake Night, hosted by the Jinshan district government, Shanghai Media Group and Channel V music channel, was held at Jinshan Beach last Saturday. It was the third year the country's biggest outdoor music party was held. With entertainers from Hong Kong, Taiwan as well as the mainland, the concert, which was attended by about 50,000 people, raised 1.18 million yuan (US$147,500) for the Shanghai Charity Foundation, double last year's record amount.
