The Jinshan District People's Court yesterday sentenced a local resident surnamed Tang to one year in prison and fined her 1,000 yuan (US$120) for illegally planting poppies. Tang's son owned a shrimp pool. But he didn't earn any money last year because most of the shrimps died. Tang, felt worried, learned from her neighbors feeding shrimps with poppies can make them healthy.
