Four more charitable supermarkets were opened in Minhang District recently in an aim to further help the poor and needy. By the end of this year, there will be twelve such supermarkets in areas such as Huacao, Hongqiao and Qibao. The local government offers up to 20,000 yuan a month to impoverished residents through government issued food stamps.
