Wartsila Qiyao Diesel Company Ltd. (Shanghai), a joint venture of the
Finland-based Wartsila Corporation and China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation
(CSIC) No.711 Research and Development Institute, has completed its first-phase
construction project, and now operates at the Shanghai Lingang heavy-equipment
industry park.
Wartsila Corporation is the leading global ship power supplier and a major
provider of solutions for decentralized power generation and of supporting
services.
The joint venture construction project covers three phases, with the
first-phase, an investment of 250 million yuan (US$31 million), specifically
being built for the production of the Auxpac generator system, which is designed
by Wartsila Corporation.
