Police in Nanhui District said yesterday that they have solved a case in
which a Santana owner surnamed Wu lost his sedan while getting his hair washed
with his friend surnamed Wang at a hair salon. Police officers suspected Wang
and his friend surnamed Li. The duo allegedly asked Wu to withdraw the case from
the police in return for the car and 30,000 yuan (US$3,614). Wu agreed the deal.
However, Nanhui police found through investigation that Wang allegedly stole the
car when Wu was having his hair washed and sold it to Li later at a price of
10,000 yuan. Police have detained Wang and Li for theft and buying stolen goods
respectively, while Wu was also punished for harboring
criminals.
