To enhance the future development of the Yangshan Deep Water Port, construction of a railway stretching 117 kilometers, running through Jinshan, Fengxian and Nanhui districts as well as Pudong New Area, was kicked off last month at a cost of 7.6 billion yuan. The first phase of the project, covering 42.8 kilometers, will be completed at the end of the year, the same time the first phase of the Yangshan Deep Water Port is finished.
