Pudong-based Shanghai Regal Shoes Co Ltd, established jointly by Japanese leading shoemaker Regal Corporation and Itochu Corporation, one of the biggest international trading companies in Japan, opened its first retail store in Shanghai last Friday. The store is the first wholly foreign-owned Japanese retail company in China. Annual revenues are expected to reach 1 billion yen (US$90.9 million).
