Pudong, city's new eco-friendly zone

The district was named an eco-friendly zone at the end of last year. In 1993, the green coverage there was only 8.41 percent which means there was only 0.54-square-meters of green land per person, far less than the city's average level. However, in 1999, personal green land reached 23.06 square meters and the coverage rose to 37.7 percent.
