Shanghai will focus on the development of Pudong New Area, especially the Zhangjiang High-tech Park, said Shanghai Mayor Han Zheng last Friday at the sixth conference session held by a leading group from the Zhangjiang High-tech Park.
Pudong New Area has experienced rapid growth over the last 15 years and it is expected to become a model area for the city's strategy of rejuvenating the market through science and education.
The openness and development of Pudong also supports the Zhangjiang Hi-tech Park, and Zhangjiang has become a new highlight of Pudong and is expected to help the city achieve its goal of becoming an international economic, financial, trade and shipping center, Mayor Han (who is also the head of this leading group) stressed.
