Qingpu District has injected nearly 20 million yuan (US$2.4 million) to improve its overall educational quality, especially in some villages in the district. More than 1,200 teachers have been attracted to settle in the district over the past three years. Starting this year, the district plans to allocate 10 million yuan annually to start a premium system and offer some other subsidies for teachers who make contributions to their schools.
