Japan-based NEC Lighting Co Ltd signed an agreement with Qingpu Industrial Zone to set up a subsidiary corporation in the district. With an investment of 3 billion yen (US$23.8 million), the new plant will provide related enterprises in eastern China with optical and electronic products and services.
