A woman, surnamed Huang, in Shanghai never expected her shop front in
Pubei Road, Xuhui District, to be put up for rent on the Internet. The
advertisement falsely claimed the 350-square-meter space was bigger at 500
square meters, and the monthly rent was only 9,000 yuan (US$1084) rather than
40,000 yuan. Huang had received many telephone inquiries, sometimes as many as
50 a day. The company, which operates the Website, said it released a huge
amount of house information every day and thus couldn't ensure the accuracy of
each piece.
