Three environmental monitoring cars were put into use today to handle waste. Officials in the car are equipped with mobile phones, digital cameras and portable computers.
Officials can send photos of waste to those in charge of the area, according to the Shanghai Sanitation Bureau. Within 30 to 50 minutes, the waste will be cleaned up. Yangpu, Zhabei and Xuhui districts have one car each. The program will be expanded to the whole city next year.
