To commemorate World Red Cross Day and the 100th anniversary of the Red Cross Society of China,  residents and 100 enterprises in Zhabei District donated more than 600,000 yuan (US$72,300). The donations, made on May 7, will support people suffering from leukemia, psychosis and other serious illness.
