Zhabei district has invested both time and money into renovating its old parks. Over 8 million yuan has been spent in the renovation of Lingnan Park in northern Zhabei, which was opened in 1989. Exercise equipment and tea houses were added and the number of plant species in the park was increased from the original 47 varieties to over 120.
