China National Aero-Technology Import and Export Cooperation (CATIC) will
launch a new marketing drive for Chinese-made aircraft to Egyptian customers, a
senior CATIC official told Xinhua Wednesday. "We have invited both Egyptian
civil aviation officials and businessmen to a products-introducing meeting to be
held at the Egyptian Ministry of Civil Aviation on Thursday morning," Wang
Zhicheng, vice president of CATIC said. "During the meeting, we'll use
multi-media presentations to familiarize our potential Egyptian customers with
the products," said Wang. "Later, we will invite them to have a test flight with
MA60." Wang, together with CATIC representatives in Egypt, were waiting at
the Cairo International Airport to receive two MA60 planes which are expected to
stop over here on its way to Zimbabwe. Last Saturday, two Chinese-made MA60
planes bought by an Zimbabwean airline left China for Zimbabwe. It was the first
time for the short-ranged commercial aircraft to enter the African market.
