31/5/2005 15:26
The European Commission (EC) has imposed a provisional anti-dumping duty
of 7.7 percent on imports of stainless steel fasteners and parts from
Vietnam. Before being subject to the anti-dumping tax, Vietnamese stainless
steel fasteners and parts enjoyed tax rates of 3.7 percent, according to the
Vietnamese Ministry of Trade on Tuesday. The anti-dumping duty will
temporarily be applied to five Vietnamese enterprises for six months. The
official level of the duty, which will be applied for five years, will be
decided by the EC in November. The ministry has asked local enterprises to
implement necessary work to cope with the lawsuit.
