The Shanghai Economic and Trade Office will officially be put into operation
on February 1, the government of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region
announced yesterday.
Henry Tang Ying-yen, the Hong Kong Financial Secretary, is expected to visit
Shanghai to host the opening ceremony.
In his short stay in Shanghai, Henry Tang will meet government leaders from
the areas where the office will serve, including Shanghai, Zhejiang, Jiangsu,
Anhui, and Hubei provinces.
On February 2, he will address at the seminar on Hong Kong Financial Services
held in Shanghai. He is also expected to meet with the mainland's top
entrepreneurs who are looking to expand their trade in Hong Kong.
